We found out about Annabelle having a hole in her heart while still in my tummy. It wasn’t until she was born that we noticed a few more extra special things, and she had to receive oxygen because she wasn’t breathing completely on her own. Annabelle was admitted into the NICU and stayed there for 2 months at which time we found out she has PKS and she received a Gtube because she was silently choking. Since then she had open heart surgery at 4 months and was diagnosed with severe hearing loss, cortical visual impairment (CVI), and she has a helmet to try to fix her flat spot on her head. She is very small for her age and she loves to cuddle.
