Luca was born a bubble baby. He lived inpatient, in isolation for 12 months, and was then sent him to continue isolation until he was 21 months old. At 6 months he was the 108th patient in America to have a thymus transplant. There have been less than 200 worldwide, this transplant saved his life and allowed him to finally be “free”. This is his third Christmas but the first out of isolation. We are so excited to celebrate the holiday, him, and the future we can now look forward to!
