It took 10 months to get a diagnosis for Joey. By that point, he had already spent 99 days in the hospital. Many of the things he was tested for would’ve meant he would be lucky to reach a year of age. His syndrome is caused by simply a random change in his genetics, but that change affects every cell in his body. That means there’s no cure and that the effects are felt in every system of his body. He sees 9 specialists and has had countless major surgeries. He is also one of the happiest, most sensitive child you will ever meet. We just returned home from his make a wish trip.
