Kira is our third child and when she was born, was a smiley content, seemingly healthy baby. Between 12-18 months she lost her ability to stand, feed herself or play with toys and the few words she had. She was diagnosed with Rett syndrome at age 2 and soon after developed seizures and required a feeding tube. Kira has learned to use a communication device, and is a smart girl who goes to high school and LOVES music. Her older sister was in the marching band in college and Kira loved to see the Blugolds march. She now participates in her high school marching band while using an all terrain wheelchair to navigate the terrain. Kira also loves to help bake, read books and participate as a captain running in her racer chair with My Team Triumph.
