I have worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities for almost 20 years… when Hannah was 8-12 weeks old I started seeing that she wasn’t meeting her milestones. Hannah did not receive official diagnosis until she was about 5 years old. It has been a long journey.  I’ve always been on the other side of caring for people who had been diagnosed with developmental disabilities- it is a struggle every day to ensure Hannah is getting the supports she needs and deserves and we have to fight for everything… as a single mom it is so hard. We are thankful for the community we have been introduced to since she was diagnosed and our family supports as well. Hannah is an amazing and strong little girl!! She is fierce and independent and beautiful … while the road has been tough I wouldn’t have it any other way and we will continue to fight the fight and celebrate any achievement as they come because I know they will.
