Amani Joy means “have faith and choose joy.” Her 7 months of life have called us to dig deep in our faith and choose joy. She came to us almost 3 weeks later than her original due date and was born in the birthing pool at home. From the beginning, she was nothing short of a miracle baby. She breathed and ate on her own (albeit a challenge in the first weeks). At a month, the doctors started to piece together a few of our health concerns and we were suddenly entering a new world of countess appointments and worries as we figured out Amani’s needs. At 3 months old Amani was diagnosed with Pallister Killian Syndrome. She has been the sweetest gift and continues to daily bring us and her brothers so much joy and gratitude.
