Grace was born with a life threatening birth defect called a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. She was on ECMO after birth, has had 4 major abdominal surgeries to create a diaphragm patch and correct organ placement, open heart surgery, and craniosynostosis surgery. She spent 285 days in the NICU and has been hospitalized for 364 days of her life. Grace also has a genetic microduplication in 11q13. Gracie is our little miracle girl and truly a one of a kind unicorn. She has the best sense of humor, is very smart, has a tough feisty spirit, and loves school, painting, books, and her family fiercely.
